Ear Training For Guitar – Lesson Two “Intervals”
In lesson two of our “Ear Training For Guitar” course we will take a look at intervals.
A solid grasp of intervals is essential for any musician, so make sure you spend a lot of time mastering these.
The first thing you need to do is read the PDF tutorial which will help you learn how to spell all of your intervals correctly, then it will show you ways to practice hearing your intervals.
After you have done all of this, watch the video because it gives you some basic interval exercises you can do with your major scale forms on the guitar as well as ties up some loose ends.
After practicing these interval exercises enough you will start to develop a solid grasp of the sound of each tone within a major tonality. In other words you will begin to master the sound of a key or tonality. This is no small feat since the major scale is the foundation of western harmony.
Keep it going!! We are just getting warmed up.
Make sure to ask any questions you may have in the Ear Training section of the forum, that way you can get help from me and other viewers who have already gone through the course.
