Diminished Triad Inversions

This lesson focuses on learning all the possible closed position diminished triads all over the guitar.

Just like with the other triads, it is essential for you to be able to spell your diminished triads fluently in order to systematically invert all of your diminished triads across the fingerboard.

There will be a theory lesson explaining how to do this soon if you are a little rusty or have never studied triads. Just do a search.

Here is the PDF Download for this lesson.

I’m a 44 Y/O former guitar player (big hair 80’s shredder). Recently my young son found one of my old guitars and I began playing again. At first I could only remember parts of my favorite tunes (Satch Boogie). Back then if you didn’t have the cash to pay for the tabliture (assuming you could find it), you had to sound out your favorite songs.

Thanks to this web site, I am not only reminded of stuff I used to know, but you have really systematically filled some holes in my knowledge that I didn’t even know existed.

If I had been able to supplement my training with internet lessons like these back then, I would have no doubt been a much better player.

Where did you study? It’s clear you have a real musical background.

Hey Chris, thanks a lot for your kind comment. Really glad you are finding the lessons useful.

As for where I studied, it is quite varied. And had some great teachers but most of the rock oriented stuff was stuff that I just taught myself by watching and analyzing a lot of my favorite players.

I did take formal classical guitar lessons for many years and studied traditional and jazz harmony from some professors at UCLA and the late Dick Grove.

So I guess it is all a combination of a lot of stuff. And I still learn a little more each day. 🙂

      Thanks Again! Carl..
