Eric Johnson Style Open Voiced Arpeggios In Cliffs Of Dover

This lesson is another in our style series on the many facets of Eric Johnson's guitar playing.

This lesson begins with a demonstration of an etude using the culmination of all of the material that is covered in the rest of the video.

This style of playing creates a very dramatic sound because of the wide interval leaps that occur in open position triads.

I encourage you to follow the picking indications and allow your picking hand wrist to stay relaxed and virtually bounce across the strings. The key in this style of picking is to stay loose and always pick in the direction of the next string that you are going to play.

Here is the PDF download of the material covered in this lesson, as well as the TAB for the etude.

    Hi,

Great lesson, I enjoy all of your lessons – You really get inside of the players technique and scale choices.

Is there any chance you could do a lesson on Steve Lukather?

    Thanks
