Hammer Ons – Slurs

This lesson focuses on the fret hand technique of hammer-ons. It is basically the technique of playing notes on the guitar with the fret hand only.

The sound created by performing this technique accurately is very smooth and legato and helps create a completely different sound than the percussive sound of picking each note.

Make sure you watch the hand and finger positions closely in the video, and keep your fret hand fingers arched and relaxed.

Try to keep your fret hand wrist as straight as you can while keeping it relaxed. You don't want any tension to develop when practicing this exercise.
