Champagne Supernova Guitar Lesson – Oasis

In this Champagne Supernova guitar lesson video, I will show you how to play all the chords and signature guitar licks found in this massive hit by Oasis.

Clocking in at over 7 minutes, "Champagne Supernova" became one Oasis' biggest hits, and an anthem for a generation of rock music fans.

The chords that guitarist/songwriter Noel Gallagher uses, are pretty easy to play throughout the entire song. There is however, the use of the left hand thumb to play notes on the 6th string. This can be a bit cumbersome for a lot of players, but with proper hand positioning, it can become comfortable to perform quite quickly.

I will go through the different sections of the song as they appear. I will also include the short little lead breaks that are thrown into the song a few times.

For the main solos, I have opted to help you figure out what Noel Gallagher is playing instead of showing you the exact solos note-for-note. A note-for-note breakdown of the solos would be a bit ridiculous since there are sometimes 3 separate guitars soloing at once. Instead, I will show you the scales he is playing during the solo, along with same samples from the actual solo, to help you learn how to play your own improvised solo just like Noel Gallagher does live.

So hopefully there will be something here for anyone from a total beginner to the more advanced player who would like to create their own improvisations over this great rock classic. Enjoy!
