Don’t Stop Me Now Guitar Lesson – Queen
In these Don't Stop Me Now guitar lesson videos, I will show you how to play all the guitar chords found in this great song by Queen and Brian May's guitar solo as well.
Obviously, "Don't Stop Me Now" is a piano based song, but the chords work very well on a standard tuned guitar.
In this first video lesson, I will show you how to play all those piano chords on the guitar. They tend to move around pretty quickly, but I will show you some ways to play the trickier stuff a lot easier than you might have expected. I think this song would be great challenge for the upper beginner level guitarist.
In the second video lesson, I will tackle Brian May's guitar solo. This one is short but sweet. Lots of cool licks can be found in this one. I will also show the fills that occur after the solo when the vocals come back in.
"Don't Stop Me Now" is one of Queen's most popular songs. It can be a great exercise in using dynamics on the guitar. Some of the chord work can be played with a big loud and aggressive strumming style. At other times, it will sound better to delicately pick across the strings in an arpeggio picked style when the music is supposed to sound more reserved. You will see me doing that during the lesson.
Since this track was originally on the piano, you have lots of freedom on the way you will playing the chords in this lesson. Just try to make it as musical as possible, but do your own thing with it.
