Ed Sheeran – Perfect Guitar Lesson

In this Perfect guitar lesson video, I will demonstrate how to play this beautiful song by Ed Sheeran in it's entirety.

First, you will need a standard tuned guitar with a capo placed at the 1st fret to play along with the original recording and this lesson.

The song starts with a simple fingerpicked pattern that will be employed for a lot of the song. It is important to try and keep the delicate feel of the song but not plucking the strings to heavily.

As the song moves along, the dynamics are slowly built up to where you will be doing some strumming in addition to the fingerpicking pattern you are already playing. You can just strum with the tips of your fingers like Ed Sheeran usually does.

One of the coolest parts of the song is the little transition riff that happens after the chorus to bring you back to the verse. It starts in a pretty high register (for an acoustic guitar at least), and works it's way down the fretboard with some nice arpeggiated chords.

I have also transcribed the guitar solo in full for anyone that has a second guitar player to play with. This solo is pretty simple and fits the song very well.

I hope you guys enjoy learning this great song by Ed Sheeran!
