Edelweiss Guitar Lesson Videos – Solo Guitar Arrangement

These Edelweiss Guitar Lesson Videos explore the beautiful song from the classic musical The Sound of Music in a special solo guitar arrangement!

This arrangement comes with a fully printable tab in pdf.

As one of the last compositions by the legendary songwriting team Rodgers & Hammerstein, it's hauntingly beautiful melody and melancholy feel was an instant smash.

After the film version of The Sound Of Music become a hit, "Edelweiss" seemed to take on a life of it's own. It is now performed by itself regularly everywhere around the world by symphony orchestras, choirs, in holiday celebrations and in various church services. It's endearing melody seems to strike a chord within just about anyone who hears it.

These Edelweiss Guitar Lesson videos will teach you the solo guitar arrangement I put together for this piece. I have attempted to give the melody it's space while harmonizing it with some nice harmonies to support it.

The Edelweiss Guitar Lesson videos are a great way to expand your acoustic playing beyond just playing chords. Being able to accompany yourself with melody and harmony on the guitar is a very satisfying way to play.

Be sure to download the TAB PDF because it will make it much easier to follow along with the lesson and performance videos. Have Fun!!

Great lesson, Carl. Your instruction is excellent! Can I request a lesson on the beautiful picking in Peter Gabriel’s “Solsbury Hill”? Thanks again!

Hey thanks for the request. I don’t think I have heard that song but I will check it out! 🙂

Thanks, Carl. It’s on his first solo LP after he left Genesis, and has a nifty, complex picking pattern.

Hello Carl, Classical Gas- mission accomplished.many thanks.I was wondering if you have ever heard of the theme music for the film “The Third Man” it’s a piece played by Anton Karas who wrote it, and is played on a Zither. There are many guitar versions too, including Chet Atkins.Theres also a very good version by a very young Sungha Jung, probably the best of the lot.
Would you consider adding the tune to your repertoire, I think it’s a great piece and hope you do too. Great site Carl, regards Maurice

One of my favorite songs of all time – and it was my mom’s too. I sing this with karaoke. This is going to be the next song I learn. This is what attracted me to you as a teacher – your sensitive renderings of great melodies. This is how I want to play too.
