(Everything I Do) I Do It For You Guitar Lesson – Bryan Adams

In this (Everything I Do) I Do It For You guitar lesson video, I will show you how to play all of the guitar chords for this smash hit by Bryan Adams in addition to teaching you how to play that amazing guitar solo note-for-note.

About the tuning, I will be teaching this lesson in standard tuning in the key of C major, like Bryan Adams usually performs it live. However, the original recording was a half-step higher (Db major). If you want to use the chords I show you in this lesson to play along with the original recording, you will need to place a capo at the 1st fret and shift all the chords and solo up one fret as well. That should be pretty easy to do once you get the chords down. You just need to visualize the capo as now being the same as the open strings.

In any case, there are some great chord progressions to learn in this one. For many of the chords, there is a C bass note that is maintained. This creates a very cool and original sounding effect.

I will take you through the chords of each section of the song in the order that they appear. There will be a few bar chords to contend with, but nothing that is very difficult for the upper beginner level player. I will save the solo for the end of the lesson.

The guitar solo is one of my personal favorites. It is hard to imagine a solo that fits the underlying music more perfectly. There is some tricky little licks in it as well, especially the delicate vibrato bar work.

I will demonstrate how to play the solo phrase-by-phrase to make it as easy to memorize as possible.

Have fun learning this classic ballad from Bryan Adams!

Thanks for a great tutorial. Have always loved Bryan’s music. That solo at the end is so fun to play and brings back a lot of childhood memories. Couldn’t go anywhere and not hear this song back in the early 90s.
