Forty-Six & 2 Guitar Lesson – Tool

In this Forty-Six & 2 guitar lesson video, I will show you how to play every note guitarist Adam Jones of Tool plays in this hard rock classic from their 1997 album AEnima.

You will need to tune your guitar to dropped "D" tuning in order to follow along with the original recording and this lesson video. Those notes will be, starting from the 6th string, D A D G B E.

Although not a very difficult song to play on the guitar from a technique standpoint, "Forty-Six & 2" contains numerous rhythmic challenges.

The first thing you will want to do is get the sound of the original recording in your ear to the point you can pretty much hum every guitar part. That level of familiarity with the song will help immensely when trying to put everything together.

After that, you can begin going through the video lesson. This video lesson is extremely detailed. I will go through the song in the exact order that every guitar riff occurs. I will also tell you the exact minute and second mark that every new riff I am teaching appears at on the original recording.
