I don't really need to say this but I will anyway, Sting is an absolutely mind blowingly talented musician. Besides being an extraordinary bass player, vocalist and song writer, he is also very adapt at finger style guitar and even lute!
His beautiful song "Fragile" from his second studio album Nothing Like The Sun, demonstrates this fact in every way. The guitar parts Sting plays in "Fragile" are fingerstyle on a nylon string guitar and contain lots of cool cool melodies harmonized in 6ths with the harmony being added beneath it as well. There is also a very cool solo played by Sting as well.
In this Fragile guitar lesson video, I will demonstrate all of these sections of the song note-for-note in a very in-depth manner.
This first video guitar lesson will cover the two main chord progressions Sting plays during "Fragile". Basically, we will have a verse and chorus chord progression to cover.
These chord progressions can be quite challenging to play, so you will want to make sure you focus on the fingerings to make them as easy as possible. Just imagine though, Sting is actually singing while playing all of these chords!
In the second video lesson I will cover Sting's extended guitar solo. It is full of beautiful guitar lines that complement the underlying harmony very well, as you would expect.
So I hope you guys enjoy learning this absolute masterpiece by the incredible Sting.
