Ghost – Square Hammer Guitar Lesson

In these Square Hammer guitar lesson videos, I will demonstrate how to play all of this hit by Ghost.

First off, you will need to tune your guitar down one whole-step. That will be, starting from the 6th string, D G C F A D.

In the first video, I will demonstrate all of the rhythm guitar parts. The second video lesson will be dedicated to the guitar solos.

"Square Hammer" starts off with the main riff of the song, a catchy guitar riff that is pretty fun to play and also makes for a good pick hand/fret hand coordination exercise.

From there we make it to the verse which consists of simple muted power chords that have the main riff thrown in there as well.

The chorus is based around simple power chords as well, but moves around quite a bit since there are a lot of fills being added to the riff.

We then make it to the solos in the second video lesson.

These solos are great and really have some nice challenging licks without being overly technical. They are also quite musical as well.

It sounds like one solo on the recording, but is actually played by two guitarists, at least live.

The second solo starts when the double-stops come in. They are both great solos though, very musical with lots of cool licks to learn.

Hope you guys enjoy this one!
