Cool Guitar Bending Techniques

In this free video guitar lesson we will talk about some interesting bending techniques that you can use in many styles of playing.

All of these bends require you to play multiple notes, so it is essential that you take your time and really try to get the notes in tune with one another as much as possible. Eventually everything will happen by almost all feel alone.

I didn't think there needed to be any PDF TAB download for this lessons since I am pretty much just showing a few things that would be easy to learn from the video alone.

If your unfamiliar with these types of bends, don't worry, your hands will get used to it very quickly.

    Great tutorial, this technique really do require some practice especially for beginners.

    How are you muting strings when you do the hybrid or unison bends? I can’t see what your doing there, and the second finger doesn’t seem to be muting when it’s used to reinforce the first finger. I have been horrible at these bends for some time now because I can’t figure out how to keep the other strings quiet.
    Great videos by the way. Very helpful even after years of playing.

      Hey Chris, most of my muting comes from my picking hand.

      For those types of bends I lightly place the inside of my picking hand palm (ie. the pinky and thumb muscles that make up the bottom part of the palm of the hand) across the strings above the ones I am doing the bend on.

      So if I were doing a unison bend on the 1st and 2nd strings the finger I actually do the bend with will mute the string directly above the bent string (3rd string in this case) since it is touching it already.

      For all the other strings (4th, 5th & 6th) I use the lower half of my picking hand palm.
