Iron Maiden – Aces High Guitar Lesson

In this Aces High guitar lesson video, I will show you how to play this Iron Maiden classic note-for-note.

The tuning is standard tuning.

The first video will cover all of the rhythm guitar parts and harmony guitar parts in the order that they appear in the song.

There are lots of classic Iron Maiden harmony lines to sink our teeth into in this one. Hopefully, you have another guitar player to play along with in order to make everything sound exactly like the album. One of the opening harmony guitar parts includes some string skipping, but the tempo is slow enough it probably won't cause you to much trouble.

When the band enters we have a much faster repeated harmony part.

The verse contains fast moving power chords that encompass most of the fretboard.

The pre-chorus is full of challenging licks, but eventually the chorus arrives, giving us a bit of a breather. The chorus is by far the easiest part of the song. Don't forget that little bar dive!

Then there is a quick riff in A minor that has a tricky rhythm to it.

I will then go into the chords under the guitar solos and cover the harmony section at the end of the song.

In the second video lesson, I will show you note-for-note how to play the two guitar solos.

The first solo is performed by Dave Murray and contains lots of his signature legato playing.

The second solo, performed by Adrian Smith, also contains some cool legato licks, fast blues based licks and short staccato chromatic lines.
