No Leaf Clover Guitar Lesson – Metallica
In this No Leaf Clover guitar lesson video, I will show you how to play ALL of this awesome track off of Metallica's S&M album note-for-note.
The tuning for this lesson and on the original recording is Eb tuning. That is every string tuned down 1/2 step Eb Ab Db Gb Bb Eb.
The clean intro played by James Hetfield is based around basic closed position triad shapes on string 1-3. He fingerpicks this section and you will learn some little fills that he adds during the intro.
After the full band enters the rhythm guitar work is pretty simple for Metallica standards. However, these rhythm guitar parts support the melodic vocals very well making "No Leaf Clover" one of the catchiest Metallica songs in my opinion.
With "No Leaf Clover" being one of just a few Metallica songs to hit No.1 on the Billboard Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks chart, I am sure many people . out there would agree with me.
I will cover each section of the song in the order that they appear giving you the minute and second mark of each section on the original recording so that you will always know where you are at in the lesson.
I will also tackle Kirk Hammett's solo note-for-note. This solo has some nice melodic licks and maintains Kirk's typical wah drenched soloing style.
