    hi, carl great work i just wish all your videos had full performances on them so we could play the way you teach, your performance are hundred times better than others, makes life easer for donkeys like me lol to play better and understand all the licks you put into place as everyone plays different on other videos, after 30 years i started playing again and thanks to your lessons i am enjoying playing again, cheers paul.

      Hey Paul. yeah I agree, the lessons are better when I do the full performance.

      The only problem is that I started having a bunch of issues with YouTube pulling the performance videos or deleting the audio. I just don’t know which ones they will do it to or not until after I upload the video.

      Some of those performances took a lot of time to work up and then to just have YouTube kill the video really sucked. So instead I decided not to concentrate on performances unless the song is in the public domain and I can safely play it in a video.

      Other than that, I can just perform little segments at the beginning of each video. 🙂 Sorry…

    Hi carl, iam a pensioner so i am tight with money, as i would have liked to be a member of your program, but out all the web sites i have looked at you are , if not the best i have seen you are a great teacher if you were in australia i would go to you, as soon as i can put a few pennies aside will try to donate it to you your a good man, i have always wanted to play guitar cleanly like you but had to earn a living lol but could you put me onto a video of still got the blues the way you play it so i know when to put the fills please, thankyou again carl.

      Hey Paul, my transcription of ‘Still Got The Blues’ is based of off of the original recording. The music video for the song actually cuts just about the whole outro solo from the song. 🙁

      I would suggest just listening to the original recording (not the radio edit), to be able to know where all those fills happen and hear the whole outro solo.

    Hi Carl,

    After watching countless online lessons, I can honestly say you are by far the best teacher. Your simple straight forward method of breaking down a song is truly a god-send. I’ve progressed from absolute beginner to intermediate/advanced at break neck speed. My musically inclined friends cannot believe I’ve only been playing for 4 months yet can play Hendrix with any kind of accuracy. Again, I have to truly thank you for your teachings. I don’t know if anyone has asked yet but one of my “dream” songs to play is the Royal Albert Hall version of Sloe Gin by Joe Bonamassa. He plays a beautiful into & exit solo in this concert that is simply awesome. I have searched everywhere for a breakdown of this song and no one has been able to do it. Is there anyway you could try and tackle this song and put it on your lessons list?     That would be HUGE man! In the famous solos section next to EVH and Gilmore is the only place for this performance. I recently learned the opening song of the RAH concert (Django), found a decent backing track and jam out but to learn those Sloe Gin solos would be truly epic.

    Where can I find a version with the outro solo as you teach it? Can’t find other than live versions which are different and the original version doesn’t have an outro solo

      Hey Uzi, yeah it is hard to find something other than the single version these days, which is a shame since the outro solo was by far the best.

    As you have problems with copy right with you tube why not do full performances but just on your site not uploaded to you tube?

      Well actually, the ONLY place you can upload covers or lessons of copyrighted music is on YouTube. That is why all the song lessons and performances are YouTube videos. YouTube has licensing deals with all the major music publishing companies and that allows people to upload that music to YT. The artist then monetizes the video and collects ad revenue from the YouTube plays. Every once in a while, a certain artist’s contract with YouTube changes and it affects any videos on YouTube that include that music and that is when things go haywire on YT. Also there are a lot of fake music publishers that make claims on YT videos fraudulently to try and steal the ad revenue. But it isn’t YouTube’s fault, they would love to keep the videos up because they make money off of them. It is the artist that pulls the plug. If I were to publish videos of songs on my site that aren’t YT videos, I would be sued immediately by every major publishing company in the world because I don’t have the licensing rights. It would be much worse than dealing with a copyright strike on YT. 🙂
