The Beatles – Penny Lane Guitar Lesson

In this Penny Lane guitar lesson, I will show you how to play all of the chords to this classic by The Beatles on the guitar.

The tuning will be standard tuning.

Paul McCartney employs moving bass lines and some unique chords in Penny Lane. Transcribing the chords for guitar presents a nice challenge for the player, especially if you decide you want to play all of the bass lines along with chords.

I will also demonstrate how you can simplify the song by just sticking with the chords and not worrying about the moving bass line. However, in both versions, you will need to be adept at playing barre chords.

I will go through each of the sections of "Penny Lane" in the order that they appear.

Keep in mind, the last chorus is in a different key than the others, so don't skip it!

Have fun guys!

I like it…I like it so very much. You’re a good instructor and a wonderful player and you should be rewarded.

I can view this video a few times and have this rendition ‘in my pocket’ so to speak but I don’t believe in artistic theft. To that end, have you a tab for this? I will donate all the same.
