The End of The Game Guitar Lesson – Weezer

In this The End of The Game guitar lesson video, I will show you how to play this great Van Halen inspired song by Weezer.

The tuning is Eb tuning. That is, starting from the 6th string, Eb Ab Db Gb Bb Eb.

Guitarist/lead singer Rivers Cuomo starts the proceedings off with a cool tapping sequence that uses a repeated 3 note tapping lick with the top note performing the melody by moving melodically up and down the B string while the other two notes stay the same.

I recommend getting the 3 note pattern down first, before then adding the melody on top. You don't want to have to think of each note in the pattern, just feel the entire pattern as one lick repeated.

From there we get to a cool riff that uses a lot of diads across the D and G strings interspersed with some harmonics and a chromatic riff.

I will take you through each section of the song in the order that it appears. For a lot of the riffs, there are two separate guitar parts. I will teach them each separately back-to-back.

I hope you guys enjoy this fun track from Weezer!
