Walk This Way Guitar Lesson Videos – Aerosmith

In these Walk This Way guitar lesson videos we will break down every part of this classic Aerosmith track.

The main riff is instantly recognizable to just about any fan of rock music. Although quite simple it is very effective. The verse guitar part is a bit more challenging with sixteenth note rhythms and large stretches but is a great study in blues influenced rock rhythm playing.

In the chorus I show you how to combine all the recorded guitar parts together to sound like the record but still playable with one guitar. 🙂

Of course no Walk This Way guitar lesson videos would be complete without the solos. The second video tackles the two solos in Walk This Way. Joe Perry incorporates some pretty slick moves throughout both solos so it will be well worth your while to check them out!

    hey carl:
    Does your Stratocastor have a “Satin Finished” Maple Fingerboard, or does it have that glossed lacquer clear coat on top of the maple? I wanted to know because the strat I just bought has a maple fingerboard with that glossed clear coat on top, and I wanted the satin finish. I have been playing rosewood fingerboards pretty much my whole life and I wondered what you thought of the clear gloss coated maple fingerboard, if you have that kind or not? I’ve had this new guitar for just two days, and I am planning onreturning it tomorrow morning. However, it plays good, and it sounds amazing. I’m really trying to decide if I could ever get use to it with this type of glossy covered maple fingerboard? What do you think, Carl?

      Hey Tommy, my strat is an EJ signature model which had a pretty thick neck finish on it as well.

      I eventually had the neck finish removed and replaced with a tung oil finish. It gives the neck a really natural wood feel and looks cool to. I share your distaste of a heavily glossy maple fretboards. 🙂

    It’s Tommy Rad. The last time i replied to you was about a guitar technique that was from
    a player that was so impressive that I learned most of his song, but asked you tp help me with the amazingly fast triplet, type arpaggios. you said send you the name of the song and guitarist. It is, “Ceremony” by an fairly unknown musician, named Jamie Humphys. The fast parts are want I’m trying to figure. I have most of the song. It is a beautiful song for sure.
