Bad Company Guitar Lesson – Bad Company
In this Bad company guitar lesson video, I will show you how to play this rock classic it its entirety.
The tuning is Eb standard tuning. That is, starting with the 6th string, Eb Ab Db Gb Bb Eb. I mention in the lesson video that you can see old live footage of guitarist Mick Ralphs performing "Bad Company" in standard tuning when performing live. I am not sure why he is doing that since the guitar is very obviously in Eb standard tuning on the original recording to match the piano riff that is in Eb minor. In any case, I have chosen Eb standard for this lesson because that also allows us to play an arrangement of that instantly recognizable piano riff along with all of the guitar parts as they are heard on the original recording.
I will cover each section of the song starting with the piano intro and verse.
From there we will cover all of the guitar parts for the chorus sections and Mick Ralphs' great guitar solo. I will only be covering the main guitar solo, not the overdubs heard throughout the intro and verse sections or the outro solo. However, I will briefly talk about how to use what you learned in the main guitar solo to create your own improvisations over the outro solo section.
Have fun learning this rock classic! Carl...
