Fade To Black Guitar Lesson – Metallica

With this Fade To Black guitar lesson series we are gonna tackle one of my favorite Metallica songs in it's entirety.

Fade To Black has lots of interesting guitar parts to dig our teeth into including arpeggiated picking, fast palm muted rhythms, single note triplet sequences and fast repetitive legato licks and more!

In this Fade To Black guitar lesson series of videos I will take you through all of those cool guitar parts throughout 4 video lessons.

Take your time with some of the solo sections. For any fast guitar line you can usually isolate it and create a little repetitive exercise out of it that will help your hands get it down faster. In fact, that is pretty much what you should do with any technical hurdle that you may come across on the guitar.

Fade To Black is an absolute classic by Metallica off of their incredible Ride The Lightning album. I listened to this album almost constantly when I was a teen and this track always held a special place with me. I hope you enjoy it as well.

    Hey Carl !!! I am a big fan of yours . Keep up the good work. Can you please load the performance for Fade to Black and Blackbird . I am trying to improve my timing and performance videos will be of great help . Much Appreciated .

      Hey Rahul, thanks for checking out my lessons.

      When it comes to the full performance videos, I actually stopped doing those a couple years ago. The reason I stopped is because YouTube kept pulling the videos and it was getting me in trouble.

      So since I don’t know which ones will be pulled and which ones they will keep up I simply decided to instead perform each section at the beginning of each new lesson video so you can see it full speed.

      The performance videos you do see on the site are simply ones that YouTube never pulled.

      Wish I could do more but it is basically out of my hands. 🙁

      Hey thanks for the compliment. 🙂 I wish I remembered but I simply can’t. I know that it was a patch out of my Fractal Audio AXE-FX II though.

      I just can’t remember which one or how I might have tweaked it. 🙁
