Down with the Sickness Guitar Lesson – Disturbed
In this Down With The Sickness guitar lesson video, I will show you how to play this smash hit by Disturbed note-for-note!
The tuning is drop C# tuning. That is, starting from the 6th string, C# G# C# F# A# D#.
I will take you through each riff in the order that each appears on the original recording.
Dan Donegan created some very catchy riffs in this one. Incorporating some interesting rhythmic groupings to keep the riffs interesting throughout. Many of the riffs use this same rhythmic grouping sometimes using muted single notes and at other times, full power chords.
There are also some tricky natural harmonics thrown into both the verse and chorus riffs. It requires a fast and accurate touch to make those harmonics sound consistent.
I will also go in-depth describing the rhythmic patterns being used during the bridge section. The rhythms might sound complex, but if you count them the right way, it can be easy to understand.
Have fun with this one!
