Ghostbusters Guitar Lesson – Ray Parker Jr.

In this Ghostbusters guitar lesson video, I will show you how to play all the chords for this massive 80's hit.

The tuning is standard tuning, E A D G B E.

What I have done with this arrangement is try to replicate the sound of the synth, bass and guitars into one cohesive part that retains the sound of the original. For those reasons, this isn't a note-for-note transcription of the actual guitar parts as played by Ray Parker Jr. Instead, I will just be doing my own arrangement of the overall instrumentation heard on the recording. Some of this will be actual guitar parts, like in the bridge, but mostly it will just be emulating the synth and bass tracks since those are what the song is built around.

I will take you through each section of the song in the order that each appears on the original recording. Putting all of the parts into one guitar arrangement can make it a bit challenging to play at times, but it is also a lot of fun once you get everything underneath your fingers.

Have fun with this one! Carl...
