I’ll Be There For You Guitar Lesson – Bon Jovi

In this I'll Be There For You guitar lesson video, I will show you how to play this great song off of Bon Jovi's New Jersey album note-for-note.

The tuning is standard tuning, E A D G B E.

For most of the intro and verse sections of "I'll Be There For You", there is a basic rhythm part along with guitarist Richie Sambora's excellent guitar fills that really carry the song in the verse sections. These fills are sparse yet perfectly capture the subdued mood of the verse. Really beautiful stuff.

The intro is an instantly recognizable sitar part that is pretty easy to play on the guitar. So we will play it like Richie did live.

I will go through each section of the song in the order that each appears on the original recording. This includes all of Richie's fills and his blues based yet highly melodic solo.

By the way, don't try to play along with one of the live videos you might see of them performing "I'll Be There For You" live, as they usually tune down when performing the song. Stick with the original album version instead.

Have fun! Carl...
