Trapped Under Ice Guitar Lesson – Metallica
In this Trapped Under Ice guitar lesson video, I will show you how to play this great track off of Metallica's Ride The Lightning album note-for-note.
The tuning is standard tuning, E A D G B E.
There are of some great riffs in this one. The rhythm guitar parts are not as difficult to play as most 80's era Metallica, but the three solos by Kirk Hammett are very challenging.
I will take you through each of the riffs in the order that each appears on the original recording. Keep in mind that we are talking about James Hetfield here, so these riffs are going to be very precise even when alternate picking 16th notes at a fast tempo, which happens a lot in this song.
As I go through each section I will cover any rhythm guitar work that is under a solo first, then demonstrate Kirk's solo.
If you are familiar with Kirk's soloing style, you will see lots of familiar licks in this song, which will help speed up the memorization process.
