AC/DC – For Those About To Rock (We Salute You) Guitar Lesson

In this For Those About to Rock (We Salute You) guitar lesson video series, I will show you how to play this incredible hard rock classic by AC/DC note-for-note.

We will be using standard tuning just like the original recording.

In the first video lesson, I will show you how to play all of the rhythm guitar parts. The second video will cover Angus Young's first guitar solo and the third video will cover his outro solo.

The intro is played by Angus Young and he uses hybrid picking (using a pick and fingers together). I will demonstrate how to play this riff with both hybrid picking or standard fingerpicking so that you can play it the way that feels the most comfortable to you.

Malcolm Young eventually enters with a chord progression under this intro that is also the chorus of the song.

When the verse arrives, there is one section of it that Malcolm and Angus play different chord voicings of the same two chords so watch out for that.

The chorus also contains a couple of guitar fills by Angus. He does these fills every time the chorus riff occurs.

In the second video I will take through Angus Young's first guitar solo. The biggest challenge with this solo will probably be the guitar bends. There is also a fast repeated blues lick as well.

In the last lesson video, I will show you phrase-by-phrase how to play Angus' outro solo.

I hope you guys enjoy learning this great classic from the incomparable AC/DC!

R.I.P. Malcolm!
