Aerosmith – Angel Guitar Lesson
In this Angel guitar lesson video, I will show you how to play this Aerosmith power ballad note-for-note.
The tuning is Eb tuning which is, starting from the 6th string, Eb Ab Db Gb Bb Eb.
Joe Perry's intro solo uses a bunch of effects that you won't hear on my guitar tone. However, what I will show you to play is exactly what Joe Perry plays albeit without the effects. You can try and dial in that tone or simply play the solo without effects, it sounds great either way.
The verse section uses a combination of piano and acoustic guitar. I don't think Aeromsmith really play the verse the same way live that it was recorded though. On the recording it sounds like there is some hybrid picking on acoustic guitar used in the 1st verse. I will show you how to play that and you can just play it the same way during the second verse which doesn't contain any guitar on original recording but uses the same chord progression.
The pre-chorus, chorus and bridge sections are very simple and contain only basic power chords.
The clean guitar solo that Joe Perry plays later in the song is really beautiful. I will show you how to play it phrase-by-phrase.
