Silent Night – Easy Guitar Version

FavoriteLoadingBookmark this Lesson. OK, since the first Christmas tune did so well, I thought I would offer one that could be played easily by less experienced players.

Even though this arrangement of "Silent Night" is listed for beginners, you still need to know how to play your basic open position chords and a barre chord. Those have already been covered on this site, so feel free to do a search on them if you need a review.

Even though the tune has been broken down to its barest essentials, it still sounds very nice in this arrangement. I think it would sound great on an acoustic guitar as well especially with all of those big open position chords.

But no matter what you play it on, make sure you pay a lot of attention to the picking hand. You need to be sure you are always hitting the right amount of strings. That way the melody will always be the highest pitched note in the chord.

If you watch the video, you will see what I mean if you look at my picking hand.
