Bleed The Freak Guitar Lesson – Alice In Chains
In this Bleed The Freak guitar lesson video, I will show you how to play this awesome track off of Alice In Chain's Facelift album.
The tuning is Eb standard tuning. That is, starting from the 6th string, Eb Ab Db Gb Bb Eb. Or if you tuner displays sharps for the chromatic notes instead of flats, those notes will be D# G# C# F# A# D#.
The arpeggio picked intro can be a bit tricky rhythm wise. I will take you through it chord-by-chord to make it easy to understand.
From there we go through a couple of riffs that are pure AIC though-and-through. They are relatively easy to play but rock hard.
After that, we will tackle Jerry Cantrell's guitar solo note-for-note. Jerry has always had the rare ability to write the absolute perfect solo for a given song. His solos always have a great combination of melody and flash. This one is no exception.
Have fun with this one! Carl...

Carl, this is one of your lessons where the instrumental guitar is better than the original with vocals. Some of your Ozzie lessons are also that way, IMO. Thanks again for making learning fun!
My cup runneth over
Like blood from a stone
These stand for me
Name your god and bleed the freak
I’d like to see
How you all would bleed for me
