Blood and Thunder Guitar Lesson – Mastodon

In this Blood and Thunder guitar lesson video, I will show you how to play this metal masterpiece by Mastodon note-for-note.

The tuning is D standard tuning. That means that you will need to tune down every string of a standard tuned guitar, one whole-step. That is, starting from the 6th string, D G C F A D.

I will take you through all of the killer riffs in the order that each of them appears on the original recording. Along the way, I will also point out which guitar parts are being played by Brent Hinds and which are being played by Bill Kelliher.

I will also take an in-depth look at the harmony guitar section. You would need around 5 guitarists to pull the harmony section off like it was recorded on the album, so most likely, you will need to choose which ones to play throughout that section. I will demonstrate all of the harmony parts so you can easily make your choice.
