Dimebag Darrell – Stealing From Legends

In this Stealing From Legends episode, we will take a look at one of the signature soloing techniques that the great Dimebag Darrell used in his legendary soloing style.

The concept we will be talking about in this lesson is his incredible use of symmetrical guitar licks.

As I mention in the video, Dimebag probably got his inspiration for this by learning the music of one of his main idols, Eddie Van Halen. However, Dimebag took the symmetrical lick concept to such a high level and made it such an integral part of his soloing style, that it would be hard not to use him as our main source of inspiration when learning how to apply this concept to our own playing.

It is a very easy concept to understand and will instantly give your solos an unpredictable yet musically exciting edge.

In this lesson, I will show you step-by-step different ways you can apply this very cool musical idea to you own playing.

Have fun! Carl...
