Even though the original recording uses synths for all of the chordal accompaniment, it actually works out very well to play it on a standard tuned guitar.
There are a few chord inversions thrown in the chord progression to make everything a bit more interesting musically, as well as a major 7th chord, but other than that you will probably be familiar with most of the chords used during the song if you are at around an intermediate playing level.
The chords provide a perfect accompaniment to those beautiful vocals sung by bassist Benjamin Orr. It would be really difficult to find a more perfect ballad from the 80's era.
