Hold On Loosely Guitar Lesson – 38 Special
In this Hold On Loosely guitar lesson video, I will show you how to play this massive hit by 38 Special in its entirety.
The tuning is standard tuning, E A D G B E.
Although many of the riffs found in "Hold On Loosely" are relatively easy to play, there are usually two or three parts being played at a time. I will cover each part individually and give advice on how to make the song sound closest to the record with just a two guitar band.
Besides the rhythm guitar parts, we will take a deep dive into Jeff Carlisi's absolutely killer guitar solo. Clocking in at around two minutes in length, Jeff's solo slowly builds and is a perfect compliment to the high energy riffs being played under it.
I will tackle most of the solo note-for-note except for one section of it that is played under the final chorus.

I know it’s not much but I just sent you $10. I’ve watched a lot of your lessons on YouTube and they’re excellent. Very disgusted to hear what happened with the hacking issue. Glad you seem to have gotten through it alright.
Would you consider doing a lesson of Pat Benatar’s Promises in the Dark? It’s got a kick ass riff with a good solo. I can’t find anyone on YouTube that has done a decent lesson on it. Thanks man, you’re the best on YouTube!

Hi Carl my comment got deleted or something. I was asking you if you could do a video on the Eagles hotel California or if there is any reason you haven’t done one yet. Anyways you are the best guitar teacher I have watched and wanted to thank you very much.
Unfortunately, The Eagles don’t like guitar lessons of their songs to be on YouTube. So I had to take all of my Eagles lessons, including Hotel California, off of YouTube. 🙁
Well that explains no Eagles. Thought it was probably something like that. What a shame.
