I’ll Wait Guitar Lesson – Van Halen
In this I'll Wait guitar lesson video, I will show you how to play this great song off of Van Halen's 1984 album.
The tuning is dropped 'D' tuning. That is, starting from the 6th string, D A D G B E.
Obviously, this is a synth based song, albeit with a killer guitar solo. But no worries, I will be arranging all of the synth parts for guitar.
Keep in mind, the guitar arrangement that I will be teaching in this lesson is not what Eddie played live. In the later Roth years, the synth was played on a backing track and Eddie just played along with some complimentary guitar lines that don't appear on the original recording. However, for this arrangement, I will instead try and recreate the original synth track on guitar so that you can sound more like the original recording. Sort of a hard rock arrangement if you will. 🙂
I will also tackle Eddie's amazing guitar solo note-for-note. This solo has some great melodies along with a couple of crazy licks. One of his best I think!
Have fun with the awesome song from the incomparable Van Halen! R.I.P. King Eddie! Carl...
