Metallica – Hero Of The Day Guitar Lesson
In this Hero of the Day guitar lesson video, I will show you how to play this Metallica hit off of their Load album in it's entirety.
This is one of the easier Metallica songs that you can learn to play. It is in Eb tuning which is, starting from the 6th string, Eb Ab Db Gb Bb Eb.
The opening arpegiatted chord sequence is used throughout a majority of the song with some slight variations thrown in there.
I will cover most of these guitar parts, but you won't find every single guitar overdub in this video lesson "Hero of the Day". The way I am teaching it in the lesson is closer to the live version without all the extra acoustic guitar overdubs and stuff.
The song then really kicks it up a notch with a heavy riff built around an F# power chord. The riff is very cool and fun to play with some quick bursts in it as well.
After that Kirk Hammett's solo appears and it once again is probably one of the easiest of his solos to play.
The ending section of the song is my favorite as they expand on the heavy riff we played earlier in the song by creating a moving bass line under it and adding a really cool sounding arpeggio sequence as well.
I hope you enjoy learning this rather simple (by their standards), but highly effective song by the great Metallica!
