Nirvana – Pennyroyal Tea Unplugged Guitar Lesson

In this Pennyroyal Tea Unplugged guitar lesson, I will demonstrate how to play the acoustic version of this great Nirvana song. This version is from their MTV unplugged performance.

The tuning is Eb tuning. Starting from the 6th string (Eb Ab Db Gb Bb Eb).

You will basically have just a couple of simple chord progressions to learn for this one. There are also some slight variations thrown in there by Kurt Cobain which I will cover as well.

The opening chord progression, which is also the verse, is quite unique in that it uses both an A minor and A major chord.

The chorus chord progression uses some simple barre chords and a more straightforward rhythm. If you can play barre chords, you probably won't have much trouble at all.
