Revelation (Mother Earth) Guitar Lesson – Ozzy Osbourne/Randy Rhoads
In this Revelation (Mother Earth) guitar lesson video, I will show you how to play the live "Tribute" album version of this amazing Ozzy Osbourne song with the incomparable Randy Rhoads on guitar.
The tuning is standard tuning, E A D G B E.
The reason I have chosen the live version of this song instead of the original recording from the Blizzard Of Ozz album is because the original studio recording uses tons of overdubs. However, Randy sort of condensed those parts together into one cohesive unit in order to perform the song live and it makes much more sense to me to learn that version. That way, you don't need to get together with an army of guitar players in order to play the song. Of course, I may be biased, Randy's playing on the live Tribute album, is my favorite recording of his.
There is a lot to cover here, hence the reason why this video lesson is almost an hour long. I will start with the clean guitar intro and follow that with every part of the song in the order that each occurs in the song.
There are some really fun riffs and some pretty intricate chord work throughout.
I will then end the lesson will a full performance and note-for-note breakdown of Randy's incredible solo. There is just so much going on in this solo it is hard to describe. Just give it a listen and you will know what I mean. It is like an entire song unto itself. Randy truly was a gift to the music world.
I know this is a long and challenging guitar lesson video, but if you put the effort into learning "Revelation (Mother Earth)", it will teach you so much about how to craft incredible guitar parts.
