South Of Heaven Guitar Lesson – Slayer
In this South Of Heaven guitar lesson video, I will show you how to play this metal masterpiece from Slayer in its entirety.
The tuning is Eb standard. That means you to tune each string down a half-step from standard tuning. That will be, starting from the 6th string, Eb Ab Db Gb Bb Eb. Or if your tuner displays sharps instead of flats, D# G# C# F# A# D#.
The intro/main riff of "South Of Heaven" is instantly recognizable and a lot of fun to play. It is a harmonized riff for most of the times that it is heard throughout the song and I will demonstrate each harmony line in detail. At some points the higher harmony line is louder in the mix and at others the lower harmony line is louder.
I will take you through each riff of "South Of Heaven" in the order that each of them appears on the original recording.
I will also tackle Kerry King and Jeff Hanneman's solos. These solo are quite difficult to get exactly note-for-note due to the nature of how they are performed, but we can get close!
I hope you guys enjoy learning yet another metal classic from Slayer! Carl...
