In this The Air That I Breathe guitar lesson video, I will show you how to play all of the guitar chords and guitar solos for this classic by The Hollies.
The tuning is standard tuning, E A D G B E. However, even though they performed the song in C major (which is also how I teach it in the video lesson), the original recording is a bit flat in pitch. Sort of between B and C. This is most likely due to slowing the tape down slightly after recording. Because of this, if you tune to standard and play along with the original recording, it will sound a bit out of tune. In order for it to sound correct, you would need to tune about halfway between E standard and Eb standard. The video lesson is in E standard though.
I will cover each section of the song in the order that each appears on the original recording. It is a very unique song in regards to its structure. There are also three guitar solos and I will cover each of them note-for-note.
Have fun learning this classic from The Hollies! Carl...
