The Beatles – Something Video Guitar Lessons

In these free video guitar lessons you will learn "Something" by The Beatles. Besides being one of George Harrison's best songs, it is also one of the greatest songs of the entire Beatles catalog.

In my opinion I feel the solo in "Something" is one of the greatest solos ever written. It fits the song so perfectly that you just can't imagine anything being able to top it.

There are some nice chord progressions using 7th chords and some nice muting techniques. And the solo has some really nice 1st finger bends and excellent vibrato. It is an excellent study in playing a highly musical solo that perfectly fits the underlying chords.

You will find two videos below, the first demonstrates all the chord progressions and fills within the song and the second video covers the solo note-for-note. Enjoy!! Carl..

Very nice lesson. Would it be possible if there is an associated tabs for the complete newbies to follow along?

I wish I could post a TAB but it would violate international copyright law since the written score for the music is licensed to a publishing company.

I just discovered this site. I really like the way you present your lessons. I’ve been trying to figure out the opening riff in the Don Henley version of “Sit Down, You’re Rockin’ The Boat” This is a real Bluesy version of the song from the musical Guys and Dolls. This version was used in the movie Leap of Faith. I was hoping that if you had time you might give it a try.
