The Killing Road Guitar Lesson – Megadeth
In this The Killing Road guitar lesson video, I will show you how to play this great track off of Megadeth's Youthanasia album note-for-note.
The tuning is Eb standard tuning. That is, starting from the 6th string, Eb Ab Db Gb Bb Eb. If your tuner displays chromatic notes as sharps instead of flats, the notes will be D# G# C# F# A# D#.
"The Killing Road" contains some pretty simple guitar riffs, at least for Megadeth standards. I will cover each guitar riff in the order that each appears on the original recording. However, even if they are a bit easier than most Megadeth riffs, they still rock and are a blast to play through.
After the riffs, I will take you through both Marty Friedman and Dave Mustaine's killer solos phrase-by-phrase.
Marty's solo is one of his best that he ever did with Megadeth. It is incredibly melodic yet death defying at the same time. A LOT of fun to play.
When Dave comes in with his solo, you will find one of Dave's most melodic solos that perfectly closes out the solo section.

another legendary solo from Marty. Would be awesome if you checked out Lucretia it has a kickass riff and the solo is on another level.
