The Last In Line Guitar Lesson – Dio
In this The Last In Line guitar lesson video, I will show you how to play all of Vivian Campbell's killer guitar parts for this incredible song by Dio.
The tuning is standard tuning, E A D G B E.
We will start with the instantly recognizable clean guitar intro. This section is fingerpicked so it will sound best to play it like that or with hybrid picking.
After the intro, the full band enters and the song moves along full throttle from there. There are some great riffs throughout and I will cover each one of them in the order that each appears on the original recording.
I will also cover Vivian Campbell's legendary solo note-for-note. Vivian is absolutely ON FIRE with this one, so we will have our work cut out for us. There are heavily palm muted scale runs, massive bends, cross-string arpeggios, rapid blues licks, mind bending legato licks that ends with a completely death defying alt pick/legato section.
This song is an amazing workout as it contains so many different techniques throughout.
Have fun learning this Dio classic! Carl...
