The River Is Rising Guitar Lesson – Slash

In this The River Is Rising guitar lesson video, I will show you how to play this great song from Slash in its entirety.

The tuning is Eb standard tuning. That is, starting from the 6th string, Eb Ab Db Gb Bb Eb.

Man do I have a fun one for you guys today. "The Rising Is Rising" how some great riffs that have this deep in-the-pocket groove that are a lot of fun to play. Along with that, Myles Kennedy's vocals are just soaring on this one with great melody throughout.

I will take you through each section of the song in the order that each appears on the original recording. Along the way I will note the differences between how Slash and Frank Sidoris play the riffs.

I will also tackle Slash's killer guitar solo about as note-for-note as you can get with it. For a lot of the solo, it just isn't possible to play it EXACTLY like the recording for a number of reasons. I will explain those in the video lesson. However, the most standout portions of the solo can be given the note-for-note treatment, which I will do. 🙂

Have fun learning this one, it is gonna be hard not too! Carl...
