When the Levee Breaks Guitar Lesson – Led Zeppelin
In this When the Levee Breaks guitar lesson video, I will show you how to play this awesome song from Led Zeppelin.
The tuning is a weird one here. There is a lot of lore as to how Jimmy Page actually recorded this song. I believe he played a 12-string electric guitar in open G tuning that was then slowed down after the recording process to move it to the key of F.
So for the tuning in this video, I will have my guitar tuned to open E with a capo placed on the first fret (giving us open F tuning). The open E tuning notes are, starting from the 6th string, E B E G# B E.
I will take you through each section of the song in the order that each appears on the original recording.
