In this free video guitar lesson we will take a look at a hybrid picking technique that creates the illusion of playing fast banjo rolls on the guitar.
Most of the work to accomplish this sound belongs to the picking hand, however, there are some relativity large stretches that you will also have to get together in the fret hand as well.
This technique is used very commonly in country music by such players as Albert Lee, Brad Paisley and Brent Mason. More and more though, you will find banjo rolls in rock and metal styles as well.
The exciting sound they create can work well in just about any musical style.
