All Along The Watchtower Guitar Lesson Videos – Jimi Hendrix
In these All Along The Watchtower guitar lesson videos you will learn how to play one of Jimi Hendrix's most beloved songs note-for-note!
It was released on The Jimi Experience's final album of new material Electric Ladyland in September 1968.
This song has it all from cool chord lead style rhythm guitar parts to half a dozen solos. There is something in this song for every player to learn from.
In the All Along The Watchtower guitar lesson videos you will slowly be taken through all of the sections that make up this classic rock masterpiece. There are five videos in all including the full performance video.
So take your shot at learning one of Jimi Hendrix's finest moments then go to the full performance video and play along. The entire performance and note-for-note lessons are done in standard tuning as opposed to Hendrix's original half step down tuning. That way, everyone can learn the song without having to re-tune their guitars. A real life saver for any player with a Floyd Rose.
This one is an all-time classic. I hope you have as much fun playing it as I did. Cheers!! ๐

Hey Carl
I’m from Denmark and just wanted to let you know how grateful I feel to have found you site, you are a true inspiration. I haven’t played for long, but I practice everyday so it’s getting better and better and thanks to your lessons I’m seeing real progress – I’ll be subscribing to your site very soon so that I can learn from your premium lessons and maybe get better some day ๐
I only have one question does your premium lesson provide a “step-by-step” program so that one can piece it together or how does it look?
Once again thanks a lot for all your great lessons and song videos ๐
ps. could you do Voodoo Child as played by Stevie Ray Vaughn and maybe Parisienne Walkways by Gary Moore ?
Hey Marty, thanks a bunch for checking out my lessons.
The Premium section has the most detailed lessons on the site including complete courses that take you step by step through everything from technique to various styles including blues, jazz and classical. There are also the most supported and updated.
Unfortunately, I can’t do the “Voodoo Child” lessons since the Hendrix estate doesn’t like it when I do lessons of his songs. I have been wanting to do “Parisienne Walkways” for a while now but I can’t find a studio recording of the entire outro solo only different live versions. If I can find that I will start working on it. Other than that I think the song would be incomplete and I don’t want to use a live version to do it since all of them are a bit different. ๐
Carl…
hey, I do plan on joining here, I’m not taking advantage of the site for free, I am very much enjoying the experience so far, so many great songs, I am sure I like all of them, really cool stuff indeed .
Thanks a bunch for the support Elaine!
Carl…
thank you so much for making this
Thanks for the great lesson again Carl.
Struggling a bit with the verse rhythm as I am a beginner. What is the rhythm pattern for the verse?
Once again thanks for the fantastic lesson :).
Just signed up for the Premium Lessons, can’t wait to get started! I found your Texas Flood lesson on YouTube, had no choice but to subscribe!
Great to have you here Andrew! Please let me know if you have any questions about the lessons at all. ๐
Carl, I’m a long time watcher and recent subscriber, and I wonder if you could do a Hendrix Pali Gap lesson?
It’s a great song that has been passed over by most of the guitar teachers.
With your technique and the limited lessons available online, I believe it would be a hit.
Love the site…well done!
Where did you get the backing track for this? I would love to use it for myself.
I believe I got it from guitarbackingtrack.com.. There are some good tracks and they are all free. ๐
Thanks!
I’m surprised YouTube hasn’t taken it down.
sensational – thank you. You have given so much to guitar playing. I can’t thank you enough. I think music is an endless subject and when my retirement arrives in the not too distant future I will have an outlet that will give me pleasure and entertainment thanks to your generosity. I will continue to subscribe to the academy. the whole package is a wonderful way to spend time.
Awesome! Thanks for the support Mike!
