Around The World Guitar Lesson – Red Hot Chili Peppers
In this Around The World guitar lesson video, I will show you how to play this song by the Red Hot Chili Peppers, note-for-note.
The tuning is standard tuning. E A D G B E
John Frusciante's first guitar part is a tremolo picked double-stop and unison bend. This is by far the hardest riff of the song and you will need to try and keep your wrist as relaxed as possible in order to perform those rapid strums.
He then moves into a simple repeated lick for the verse.
The chorus contains a couple of different guitar parts on the original recording. In the footage I have seen of Frusciante playing this live, he usually sticks with the higher guitar part. I will demonstrate both guitar parts for this chorus though.
There is also a cool chord strumming section at the end of the song that uses chords played very high up the fretboard. It sounds great once you get those chords under your fingers.
Have fun with this one guys! Carl...
