Christmas Eve/Sarajevo 12/24 Guitar Lesson – Trans-Siberian Orchestra
In this Christmas Eve/Sarajevo 12/24 guitar lesson video, I will show you how to play this rock instrumental Christmas hit by Trans-Siberian Orchestra note-for-note.
Originally released on the Savatage album Dead Winter Dead, it was re-released by TSO (a side project of several Savatage members) on TSO's 1996 debut album Christmas Eve and Other Stories.
The song is recorded in standard tuning. As I mention in the video lesson, the opening guitar part uses a capo at the 2nd fret on the original recording. It will show you how that was done but also show you how they play it live without using a capo.
There are a lot of layered guitar parts that play both 2 and 3 octave lines or harmony lines. At times there can be up to 4 guitars playing at once.
However, there is usually a dominant guitar melody line at all times, allowing you to play along with the recording and do a pretty convincing performance with just one guitar and definitely with two.
I will tackle all of those guitar parts in the order they appear in the song. I hope you guys enjoy the journey!
