In this Day of the Eagle guitar lesson video, I will show you how to play this incredible track from Robin Trower note-for-note.
The tuning is standard tuning, E A D G B E.
"Day of the Eagle" stays full-throttle for most of the song with some incredible rhythm guitar work. Robin locks into a killer groove and stays there for the entire song.
I will take you through each riff in the order that each appears on the original recording. I will also go through Robin's main guitar solo note-for-note.
This blues based solo has some fast licks that move around quite and bit and can be pretty tricky to get sounding just like the album.
For the outro slow solo over the slow blues section, I won't be teaching the solo note-for-note. Instead, I will demonstrate the scale patterns that Robin uses so that you can confidently play your own improvisation over this section just like Robin does.
Have fun with this classic from the great Robin Trower! Carl...
