Highway Tune Guitar Lesson – Greta Van Fleet

In this Highway Tune guitar lesson video, I will show you how to play this Greta Van Fleet hit note-for-note.

The tuning in standard tuning E A D G B E.

The main riff that starts the song is a lot of fun to play but can be a little tricky. The little bends are kind meant to just inflect the notes instead focusing on a true in-tune bend for each one.

However, once you get locked in with the feel of those bends, the riff itself is pretty straightforward.

The pre-chorus starts out relatively easy moving everything up to a Amaj-Asus4 riff, but then guitarist Jake Kiszka moves it up to B using his thumb for the bass note on the 6th string and doing a series of melodic pull-offs around a B Major above it. This is probably the trickiest riff of the song.

The solo is very blues based and is obviously an improvised sort of thing that can be difficult to match note-for-note. I will demonstrate the licks and give you good idea of what to focus on to make it sound like the recorded solo.

I hope you guys learning this great track from this young and exciting band, Great Van Fleet!
